Corrective Jaw Surgery

Corrective jaw surgery is the treatment of choice to correct minor and major skeletal and dental irregularities. It is a procedure where the upper jaw and/or lower jaw is/are repositioned to achieve a more harmonious bite. Often, surgical orthodontics is done in combination with other orthodontic treatments to correct severe bite problems or jaw discrepancies.

If you have difficulty chewing food, the lower teeth are too far forward compared to the upper teeth, or have sleep apnea problems, schedule your complimentary consultation today! We would love to help!

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to grow at the back of your jaw and come out by age 18. If the jaw doesn’t have enough room, they fail to emerge and become impacted. Impacted wisdom teeth may be difficult to clean, leading to cavities and infections.

Here at Hunter Orthodontics, we follow the recommendation of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to remove wisdom teeth by age 13 to 20 before the roots are fully formed to prevent future problems and to ensure optimal healing.

TMD/TMJ

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a small joint near your ear that attaches your lower jaw to the skull. Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) may occur when the joint becomes inflamed or irritated due to stress, a bad bite, habitual clenching, or trauma.

At Hunter Orthodontics, we provide many approaches to treating TMD, including pain management, fabricating custom night guards to prevent grinding, or orthodontic treatment to reposition teeth for a healthier bite.

Dental Implants

Imagine being able to enjoy your favorite foods or not worrying about dentures falling out when you speak. This is all possible with dental implants. The titanium screw fuses to the bone, making it a great way to replace missing teeth and function like natural teeth. Many patients now prefer dental implants over removable dentures due to improved aesthetics, function, and speech.
