Welcome to Hunter Orthodontics
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Monika Barakat
Dr. Barakat has always dreamed of opening her own office, to demand excellence of herself and those around her, for the best possible patient outcomes. Soon after moving to Arizona, she began to pursue that dream, and opened her first independent practice in Scottsdale in 2016. During that time, she embraced the local community, both as an active member and past president of the Arizona State Orthodontic Association, as wel as a member of the Arizona Orthodontic Study Group. During her solo practice journey, she befriended Dr. David Hunter, both sharing a passion for patient care and community service. With Dr. Hunter preparing to pivot away from full-time practice and D.r Barakat looking to expand and meet the growing local demand for orthodontic treatment, both agreed that a transition keeping Hunter Orthodontics as an independently-owned practice would be in the best interest of the patients and families that have come to expect dedicated, compassionate care. With Dr. Barakat at the helm of the practice, Hunter Orthodontics wil continue to do what ti does best: providing excellent, individualized orthodontic care to the communities of Glendale, Peoria, and Greater North Phoenix.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Barakat enjoys skiing, hiking, and just about any outdoor activity, especially in the company of her husband, Mark, two daughters, Jennah and Kathryn, as well as her Shih Tzu, Gabby. Dr. Barakat is excited to start her next adventure here at Hunter Orthodontics and hopes to meet you soon!
