Your First Visit
We are always excited about new patients. We understand expectations about orthodontic treatment differ. At your first visit, we will discuss your treatment needs and determine the best care of treatment for you.
Consultation
At your first visit, Dr. Hunter will recommend orthodontic diagnostic records. These records include: 1) a medical/dental health history, 2) digital photographs of your teeth and face as well as radiographic images of your teeth, and 3) a thorough exam by Dr. Hunter to determine:
- If orthodontic treatment is indicated
- The best time to begin orthodontic treatment
- What treatment options are available
- The approximate length of recommended treatment
- The cost of recommended treatment
The above-mentioned information is used to develop a custom treatment plan just for you. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as your teeth move during orthodontic care.
You will also be presented with a verbal and written explanation of Dr. Hunter’s treatment recommendations. Our treatment coordinator will discuss with you, in detail, your orthodontic investment, insurance benefits and payment options.
Treatment Appointments
Your initial treatment appointment takes from 1-2 hours. At that time, we’ll schedule appointments at regular intervals of 8–10 weeks apart for adjustments, which generally take 20-40 minutes each. Our regular office hours are Monday thru Thursday from 7:30A.M. to 4:30P.M. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance so we may provide another patient with that time. Your cooperation is sincerely appreciated.
Fees and Financial Policy
Our goal is to provide you with affordable, high quality treatment that fits your budget! We are proud of our flexible payment options that fit your personal circumstances:
- If payment is made in full at the beginning of treatment, we offer a discounted fee. If you have insurance, we will offer this discount on your out-of-pocket portion not covered by insurance.
- A financial arrangement can be made to extend your payments over a period of months, following an appropriate down payment.
- For your convenience, we offer CareCredit, VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Card services.
Please ask us about payment plans, credit card payments as well as automatic payments and online payment services.
Insurance
For our patients who have insurance, we will assist you in any way we can to readily and accurately verify and determine your benefits, file your insurance claim, and determine your financial responsibility to us. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss and explain the assignment of benefits that is involved when you utilize your insurance coverage.
